For the uninitiated (like me before I read the article) retrocausality is the theory that the chain of causality can be broken, that is the effect will come before the cause... or something like that.
Now I dont claim to be a quantum physicist, but I'm pretty sure that the "cause" of something, by definition, is that which comes first. Sure enough, a quick trip to dictionary.com proved this to be true and vice versa for effect. Check it out here and here respectively (incidentally, 1st definitions for each).
Yet despite the clear lack of logic for retrocausality, who am I to say Einstein was wrong... besides, how much of physics really does make sense? This might be Monty's effect on me coming through though. Anyway, let's just assume that the definitions of cause and effect are, for lack of a better term, crap. So these scientists send a piece of information back in time... to themselves... as they're creating the device that will send this info back to them. If they really expected the experiment to work, wouldn't they know the answer already? And, thus knowing the answer will be recieved prior to completion of the device, stop working and just wait around for it instead?
I hope these guys haven't been given a government grant.

Man Marries Goat

Enough said

Behind the name

I've researched thoroughly so i know exactly what i'm meant to cover in my first blog post, and have come to the conclusion that it should cover either a) lots of boring crap or b) explanation of name and what i expect it to cover in the future.
Ok, so i didn't really read any other first blog posts (those that i have read, i can't remember - i swear uni's making me dumber) but saying thats already brought me up to about 100 words. Yay for bullshitting.
While on the hunt for the ultimate blog name several ideas occurred to me, including: fullmetalcheyne, cheyne the buckley, the amazing adventures of cheyne and ali, cheyne finding cheyne, dixistential and buckleylovemewetter. However, i found these to be, respectively, too nerdy, too gay, too feminine, too..., too gay and too kooky. Yet, while i was wallowing in self pity over how fate had conspired against me yet again (ok i was actually at work, its a fine line) a semi brilliant name came to me. When i got home, by powers* beyond my imagining, the name had become the luminescent magnificence it is today. And thus i bring you my blog.
More insights tomorrow

*said powers may be attributed to one Katie Griffiths and her messenger boy
